Children at Clinic

dear Chelle,
Mummy went to a health clinic. These children were waiting in line to see the nurse. The girl is my age. There was a long line of mothers and babies. It was 40 degrees. The mothers and babies had to wait for a couple of hours to be seen.

Golden Temple

dear Judy,

Mummy went to see the Golden Temple in Amritsar. It is a lot more spectacular than what you can see in this photo.
Then she crossed over the border to Wagah with Simon and they caught a taxi to Islamabad.
Why don't you come and visit?

Lawn Mowing

dear Grandma,

Mummy says you would like a new lawnmower. She sent me this photo from India.
I am getting a lot better at talking on the phone. Eleanor has give me a real mobile that can charge up. I took it to the beach and walked along chatting to whomever might be on the other end. I also have my laptop now that sits on the desk in the dining room. I was up at 3.00 am the other night, working very hard. Just like daddy.

Taj Mahal

dear Mummy,
I really liked talking to you on the phone today. I go to school holiday camp and yesterday I fell off the trampoline.

dear Rosie,
Inside the Taj Mahal you can call out the name of a loved person and if it echos it means you love them. I called out your name and it came back to me.

Pasta dinner

dear Glenda

Tonight I fed myself pasta using a fork (well most of it anyway). Today at school I sat for 20 minutes unrestrained and paying attention. I had worn out my attention by the time I got home.
I am growing my fringe out, but I keep losing the clips.

Daddy's home

dear NanaStella,

My daddy came home from Uganda and I am so happy to see him. I am also glad you are coming to visit me in June. It has been a long long time since I have seen you.

My friend Hope came over to music this evening. We went into my bedroom and shut the door and played for fifteen minutes. It was fun.

The Web Phone Babysitter

dear Eleanor,

Today Daddy came home from Uganda. At the airport I got to use the webphone. For one dollar you can have 12 minutes of complete access. It makes the waiting time go very fast.
It is so nice to have daddy home. He shared his apple crumble with me.
Hope stayed over last night and this morning we went swimming and to MacDonalds. We had lots of fun together.
I am looking forward to seeing you on Tuesday

Hairdressing Hope

dear Julie,

My friend Hope has come for a sleepover tonight. We have had big bowls of pasta and a very long bath. We were allowed to eat my easter egg in the bath. Tomorrow morning we are going swimming at Kilbirnie. They have a new swimming pool with fountains, and squirt guns and buckets that load up above your head and then splash over.

Beata and Artu

dear Beata,

Today I saw some photos of you. I looked very carefully for a long time and stayed very still. Then I started saying 'sh sh' sh' like I used to say shoes. I think I must remember you. When I saw this photo I gave a kiss as well.

It is the end of the school week. Today we went swimming and I had speech therapy. For six weeks my therapist tried to teach me to say 'mmm'. I never quite managed it.

have a very nice weekend,

Accordians

dear Kelly,
Mummy is home from Pakistan but daddy is still in Uganda. Today I had music with Carolyn and I played the accordian for ages. On Sunday morning I woke Eleanor up because I was practising my skills. I dragged the accordian round the house and every so often I would stop and have a practise.
While mummy was away my two bottom teeth fell out. You can't hardly see the gap because my top teeth are so big.
