Baked Bean Pie

dear Daddy,

Nita made me baked bean pie. It has pastry on the bottom, then baked beans and mince in the middle and potato with grated cheese on top. It is yummy.

You know that swine flu has come to New Zealand and they have quaranteened the people. At least mummy will be safe as there are no pigs where she is right now.

I hope you come home soon,

lots of love and hugs

Music to the ears

dear Mummy,

I found my recorder this morning after a long long time. This new mirror is excellent for perfecting my technique.

I am feeling a bit tired and droopy these days and it might be that my medicine isn't working as well as it should be. Or maybe it is just with Winter coming.

Love you and miss you (though it is really nice having Juanita here),

Whose the one on the end?

dear Cassie,

It was a bit insulting. I had to have my mother with me on this ride. Anyone can see that if there was going to be danger, it would be from the sits tipping to the left.

I really liked the theme park.

It is back to school now till July. And Winter is coming.

Matt and Me

dear Mel,

He is lovely isn't he? When you come round, I always hope and fingers cross that today you will take me to Matt. He is going to miss you so much when you go to Italy. Just tell him that I am always here if he needs company :)

Thank you for spending time with me this week,

lots of love

technical wizardry

dear Richard,

This is a toaster. You put bread in it at the top and then you push the lever down. Then you push all the buttons on the front and if you are very skilled toast comes out the top. I am still learning, so sometimes bread comes out the top as well.

Swinging time

dear Glenda and Grandma Stella,

Please give the baby a hug from me. Remember the picnic we had in Summer? Now this swing is there.

How is America? Have you seen the Niagara Falls? We drove past a sign on the way home on Monday which said 'scenic waterfall'. It wasn't much different than what comes out of the tap in the kitchen when I turn it on.

From tomorrow Mel and Juanita and Eleanor are looking after me. Mummy will have  gone to Pakistan and Daddy has gone to India.

Lucy

dear Juanita,

Lucy has been coming to visit me for the past three afternoons. She walks with me and we play down at the beach and at the park and then we play music in my bedroom. Lucy's parents designed this house a long long time ago.

I am looking forward to seeing you and Kaz next weekend. We will be all on our own, because parents will have left for Pakistan and India.

lots of love

More on Rainbows End

Dear Maria,

I went to Rainbow's end yesterday, where you went with mummy when you were 18 years old, a long long time ago.

I went on the Pirate Ship, the dodgems, the go karts, the merry go round (three times), the car-train , twice, (see photo), the dragon ride, the jump seat, plasma cars, the log flume ride, the coal cart ride ,the 3 D dinosaur movie (twice) and airplane ride.

I love all of it, except for the inbetween times when my drugs were making me feel very miserable.

Rainbows End

dear Judy,

Thankyou for the chicken and all the wonderful marshmallow easter eggs. It was great to come to your place for a cup of team and all those wonderful marshmallow easter eggs.

Rainbows End was fun, even though

I was feeling so drugged up today. I had my best time on the dodgems where we managed to hit everyone else at least once :) This photo shows us just having manoevered out of the chaos behind.

I think Ella would love it.

See you in the weekend.

lots of love

2.2 kilometres

dear Fatima,

Today is my mother's birthday. I am feeling a little stressed by ending the school term and being transported up here to Waiheke.
I am expected to walk each day- for ever increasing distances. Today I was made to walk 2.2 kilometres, with my uncle Johnny and even he was breathless at the end of it.

I hope you enjoy your birthday present from us,

lot so love

Balloons

dear Melody,

We were driving along the road and saw all these balloons up in the air. Great big colourful balloons.

Now we are on Waiheke. I was so excited to arrive here. It is very exciting on the island. I have lots of toys under the bed and already I got to bath in a bucket on the picnic table and go for a walk all around the top of the bay, 1.6km.

lots of love

p.s. give my love to Matt.

Easter Holidays

dear Jenny,

Today was the last day of school for two weeks. I got a certificate from the Riding for Disabled for improving my posture on the horse. It is on the fridge.
This is XinXin'x piano accordian, which sometimes I get to play. It is my favourite instrument at the moment.
I am going to Waiheke for a week over Easter. There are lots of easter eggs up there and all those roosters at the rooster retirement village- I will make sure to take a photo.
Lots of love

Bees and honey

dear Chelle,
I don't know if I am still allergic to honey. I don't want to experiment by having some. The last time I had some was in Paris. We were just going out and got as far as the metro and I was so sick.
And if I am allergic to honey still- would I be allergic to bee stings? I don't think I will give that a go either.
How are you? It must be spring now for you because it is autumn for us. When is Cassie going to come and visit me?
lots of love

The Weekend

dear Richard,

I just had such a busy weekend I barely remember it all. On Saturday I cashed in my gift voucher from Xmas with Eleanor and we spent the day up the coast. We went to Raumati South and played on the beach for ages and lay in the sand in the sun.
Then on Sunday Julie came to visit and we played with Pig. But Pig now has a broken back and is a bit creaky. Then after she left, you wouldn't believe it, but mummy gave me diazepam. This is all to do with that theory that it might reboot my brain. Well all I think it did is make me sleep for two hours and then feel really grumpy and horrible for two days. I am still having flakes. Not that I know I am having flakes- it is just what others say.
Looking forward to seeing you on Sunday,
love, your niece,
