It is Spring

dear Aunty Judy,

This is a jonquil flower in my garden. There are lots of daffodils and tulips and jonquil flowers.
Today when I got home from school I melted chocolate and then mixed rice bubbles in it. Then I put it in to a dish to set. The chocolate is very very dark and so it isn't very sweet tasting. You might go YUk Yuk if you ate it.
At school we are practising for our school production of the Yellow Submarine. It is going to be soon.

Burmese dress

dear Kelly

This is the dress that Aunty Tehzeeb brought me from Burma. She went to Burma with Uncle Z and his father and Fatima. Grandfather's brother had died in the war there and Aunty T found his grave on the internet and so they went to visit it. It was very nicely looked after by the War Commission.
They liked Burma very much.

Down on the Farm

Dear Mel,

I have had such a fun weekend with Matt. We went to Holly's place on the farm. I played with Chloe and Jarvis. On their farm they have big Cows and baby cows that are only one week old and I am taller than them.

The farm also has Cats, Dogs, Rabbits and Sheep. Holly let me feed the Rabbits carrots and we gave the new calfs milk.

We also went to the park where there was a big new playground. My favourite part was the spinning wheel. Jarvis, Chloe and I all got on and yelled at Matt and David (Chloe and Jarvis's Dad) to go faster and faster. I was so dizzie!

We are home in Wellington now and Matt is going to try make me Tea. Im a bit worried because this is Matts first time cooking for me, we had McDonalds on Friday and Holly made me pasta on Saturday. Im a bit tired now as we did a lot of driving and are going to go to bed now.I miss you

Road Trip

dear Kelly,

I am here on the farm for the weekend and staying with Jarvis and Chloe. Chloe is 2 and Jarvies is 7. Jarvis was trying to talk to me and Matt had to let him know that I can't talk.

Then his mother told him that I am special and my brain is different from his so he just had to be extra nice to me. So then he came and too me to see his calves. But better than the calves is the rabbits. They have their own house and I tried to go inside to visit them but I didn't fit. Then I tried to share their drink bottle.

Frangipani

dear Johnny,

Mummy sent me these photo. It is from a tree on Uncle and Aunty's street in Islamabad. At night time when the air cools, you can smell it.

Now it is getting cooler in Islamabad. Soon it will be Ramadan and then you have to fast through all the daylight hours. But mummy will come home then.

dear Kandy and Kahan,
I hear that mummy had pakora with you. Eggplane, and potato and meat and mint chutney. She is so lucky. I wish I had been there too. I would like to see you both again. Maybe I can come to Geneva when you go back there?

Innoculation for swine flu at early age

dear Mummy

I guess you were right to have innoculated me. At the time I was so annoyed that I couldn't get this pig off me with its weighted down feet. Every time I tried to roll away it just came with me.

Where is piggy now?

I had fish and chips for dinner last night as a treat and ate lots and lots of chips. And the night before Juanita's dad came over and we had roast chicken and lots of snakes for dessert.

Central Park

dear Stella,
I walked all the way down to the Central Park in Brooklyn (in Wellington- not in New York), with Briony.
That day there must have been a rush of blood to my head as I could sign: toilet, yes, more, please, food and drink.

Five months old

dear Matt,
Here is a photo for you to take away the sadness of Mel leaving. In the photo I am five months old.
That is good that you managed to cook yourself dinner on the first night. I look forward to you cooking for me, too.
I have Eleanor and Briony here for the weekend. This week Nita bought a video camera to make videos- it is fun.
love and snuggles and a few dribbles,

Learning to walk

dear Jamie,

Soon you will be leaving for the States and camping in the National Parks in America. Are you going to come back and see me in January? I might even have a scooter this summer to ride around the island on.

This is a movie from when I was in Pakistan and just 17 months old, learning to walk. I hope you can see it.

Mosque in Lahore

dear Grandma and Grandad,

Here is a photo of the mosque
in Lahore. You can have dinner opposite on the rooftop of a place called Cuckoo's Den.

You have to walk up many many steps to arrive there and at this time of year it is very hot. At the bottom of the steps lives a painter who had painted ladies for all of his life and his big paintings hang all over his walls. These are ladies who live in the streets nearby. The district is called the Red Light District. I don't know why it has an english name.

Last night mummy, daddy, Tehzeeb and Andrew all had dinner there. They had peach juice and lassis's and chicken kebabs and dahl.
