Ear Infections

dear A. Jo,

My ear infection won't go away, so now I taken a swab and sent it to the laboratory. But apart from that I am in good health. My nervous and endocrine systems have all the meds they need to stay under control. And I am growing. I have grown 2 cm in six months, though I haven't put on any weight.

Today there is sunshine in Wellington but the little map in the newspaper is showing lots of clouds and raindrops for the rest of the week.

Washing up

dear U. Asif,

I didn't think there was such a thing as too much water until I nearly drowned last year. On Sunday I met Mr Jamil Khan at the supermarket. He was there with his family and they had big boards with information on them about the floods. He had his laptop running with stories and he had a bucket to collect money for people who have no home or food anymore and are getting sick. He had collected lots of money and was sending it to EDHI foundation and to Imran Khan. I think he is a very good man.

thunder and lightening

dear Mowgli, Greta and George,

It was very nice to visit you in New Plymouth even if the mountain remained invisible under the clouds. On the drive back home we couldn't even see the road at times even with the window wipers going at full whoosh whoosh whoosh.

I hope we come back soon and I get better at skateboarding and scootering and roller skating. And that I get to eat more waffles.

lots of love

Ailsa and me

dear Ailsa
Here is our photo at my birthday party.

Thankyou for helping me blow out the candles :)

I am going away this weekend to New Plymouth to see my baby nephew- George and also Greta and Mowgli. I have a motel which has a bath in the room by the window and I am going to sit in the bath and just admire the view.

I hope you have a good weekend and see you soon,

Coats

dear Mel,

I am sorry you are sick with flu and I hope it is not swine flu. I have a busy job at present recording all the food adults are eating in this house (book on my lap). While I am putting on no weight, others are consistently getting larger. I am trying to role model good behaviour. Each morning I am getting the scales out from under the wardrobe and pointedly getting on them, expecting others to follow suite. Lets hope it works.
lots of love and cuddles (though more when you are better )

Happy Birthday Roger

dear U. Roger,

This is the most recent photos I have of you, from when you visited me in Paris.
I don't wear glasses any more and I am much longer than this. I don't think you could pick me up now :)
Did you know I can ride the bike school? It is a big modified trike and I have been learning for two years. I can now go quite a long way and am learning to steer.
You will have to come and see me.
Happy Birthday,
lots of love

Kazoo

dear U. Johnny,

Did you know I have learned to make sounds on the kazoo? It took Carolyn four weeks of showing me but I was really motivated. It makes a cool croaky sound.

I did lots of jumping on the trampoline in the weekend and last night as the sun came out in Wellington. I can jump round and round but I haven't learned to jump straight ahead on the ground yet.

This photo is of the lion kissing the lioness at San Diego Wild Life Park. Mummy took it on her holiday. You can't see it but there is a big ditch between her and the lion, otherwise she might have been able to get a kiss too.

I hope I am going to see you at the next holidays.

Legs that walk and run and jump

dear Eleanor,

My IEP review was held two days ago and the new goal from my physio is that I can jump forward :) Like jump into the swimming pool or jump around the room in one direction. Apparently if I can learn to do this then there will be other things I can learn to do later.

Yesterday we went to tiny-tots next to the Kilbirnie swimming pool. Too many kids in the class were not that well and so we didn't go swimming. Next year I will be a the new satellite school being built on the grounds of the Evans Bay Intermediate and then we are going to go to tiny-tots a lot more. Maybe we will even go swimming more as it will be real close by.

Happy Belated Birthday Richard and Jenny

dear A. Jenny and U. Richard,

Mummy has just arrived home from San Diego. She also went to Los Angeles and met ET. She was with her friend Joni. ET is nearly as old as they are.
She has brought me back a orange and pink outfit from Gymboree. I am growing really fast at the moment but I am no where near as tall as an american 8 year old. They are about 135 cm and I am only 122.
Today I went to the orthopaedic surgeon and he said I didn't have to wear an orthotic anymore. The best way to improve my walking is going to be to improve my strength. I guess that means I will get to go on a lot more walks.
I hope you both had a lovely birthday
lots of love and hugs

Peter and me

dear U. Peter,

It was nice to have you and Alex visit us. She has the same name as daddy- or haven't you realised that.
Since this photo I had my hair cut off.
Tonight Soi is here and she has brought her grandaughter, Anaya to play as well. It is fun when Anaya comes. She is six years old, but in many ways she is a lot older than I am.
It is still raining here but not a storm like when you came. It is soft warmer rain and it will make the flowers grow. At school on Tuesday afternoons I got to choose an elective and I chose 'gardening'.

Carli cut's my hair

dear Carli

Thankyou for the fabulous time at your salon. I am getting a lot of compliments on the new haircut and it feels great. On Saturday I walked down to Brooklyn park with Briony. We stopped off on the way at the Indian to buy butter chicken and naan bread for a picnic. Then it was off to the flying fox. I am sure I go so much faster now that I don't have as much hair.
