Over the speed limit

To traffic enforcement officers,

The speed limit in the city is 50km/hour and the wind is going at 65km/hour. I think you should do something about it.
Paid up speeding tickets could be used for a fun park for kids in Wellington.

Measurements

Hi,
I had a few request for measurements and so had the workers draw this up :)
I think if you click on it, it gets bigger.

American Idol

dear F.G. Glenda

I love American Idol. I sing along or just absorb in awe for most of the singers. Some I don't think are so good, specially visiting ones. I want Crystal to win because she is so cool and can stand and play guitar and also play piano.

I keep waking early in the mornng and crying. I don't know why. I don't get up but just lie there. Hopefully it will be better soon. So far it has been for six days.

lots of hugs and cuddles to Billie and you too

Dinner Parties

dear Jess,

It is has been a very busy week. After the monday night dinner with Bill and Janet, where I performed a 20 minute scarf dance, there was tuesday night with Mel, Matt, Zoe, Briony, Carolyn and Bevan. Mel and Briony come and spend time with me in weekends, I just met Zoe - who is Mel's younger sister and Carolyn is my music therapist. Matt is Mel's partner and Bevan is Carolyns. There was a wondeful dinner with roasted steak and cheesecake but I wasn't allowed any of it because I had had to come home from school in the morning as I was vomiting again. So I just had bread. But even though I had been sick, I still mangaed to give an evening performance.

Last night I went to see the doctor because I had been sick three times in two months. But he said he couldn't think what it might be.

Airport encounter

dear Grandad,
It was very nice to see you at the airport last night. I hope you have a fun trip to Sarawak and see lots of caves and manage to walk the 10km a day.
After I saw you I came home and Bill and Janet had arrived for dinner. I provided entertainment on ukelele and I did a scarf dance as well.

Help yourself

dear G.M. Kelly,

Up early yesterday to catch the car ferry and drive back to Wellington. Once on board I did my sudoku for a while and then decided to take a parent up to the cabin to buy the paper. There were lovely muffins available on the counter in cling wrap. As I hadn't had breakfast and am not trying to lose weight like some others around me. So I politely helped myself (independent person that I am) and left to take it back down the steps to eat in the car.

You wouldn't believe what happened next. The serving man pointed to me and demanded the parent pay for what I was 'taking'. Parent went bright red, looked ashamed (for gods sake) and came and took my muffin off me and put it back on the counter.

Now firstly, why do they put them there if you are not meant to just help yourself and secondly couldn't parent just pay if that is what had to be done.

lots of love

Last day on the island

dear Eleanor

I haven't eaten all my easter eggs yet cos I got given lots of little ones and I still only get one a day or maybe two sometimes.

Today is the last day on the island and it is grey and getting cold. The house is all clean and packed up. I helped with bedmaking. I can drag the blanket from the floor to the bed and then when it is all made I can flap the cover up and down many times to air it.

From Eleanor

Dear Rosie,
You sound like you are having fun on your school holidays. That's no surprise really, as you are always having fun. In fact, I don't think I know anyone who has more fun than you. I hope the weather is a bit warmer up there than it is in Wellington, where it feels like winter has already arrived. Have you eaten all your easter eggs yet?
Yum. I made some easter buns this year and they were great. I think you would have liked them.
Hope you have a safe trip back to Wellington this weekend. Say hello to mummy and daddy for me.
Lots of love,
el

Bye Bye Julian

dear Julian,

thanks so much for coming to visit. I loved having you here: playing playdoh with me; swinging at the park; swimming at the beach; eating heaps of pancakes; helping with baby doll when she needs to go toilet and being company in the back seat of the car...
lots of love and hugs

Diet Coke and Rock Salt

dear Sabian,

This is so cool. We finally did fountains with heaps of diet coke. We did one with mentos but rock salt works better.

We did four bottles yesterday and then another four today. The four today were a thankyou for Judy because she came over and cut Julian's hair. Well actually she just trimmed it - as Julian didn't want it cut.

Hope the running camp is going real well,

lots of love

Wetsuits on Waiheke

Hi Eleanor,

I am on Waiheke again. Yesterday I went swimming. The water was so warm that I didn't even need the wetsuit but it was still cool to wear it.

There is a lot of sunshine and no wind and lots of hanging out watching my favourite boy/man that fronts the kidzone programme on TV.

lots of love

Happy Birthday Cassie and Elijah

Hi,

Happy Birthday to both of you. Here is a rose. You know, my secretary she was away and so I wasn't able to log on to say happy birthday on the day. You are so lucky to be 16 Cassie. I wish I was. Remember when we met in Paris?

Today we drove in the car all day from Wellington to Waiheke with just one stop in Taupo for brunch. It takes 12 hours from one door to the next. I didn't even know we were going, just got dragged out of bed at 7.00 am and quickly stripped of my warm pj.s and then dressed and off to the car with no breakfast and not even my hair done.

It is so cool to be up here again.

lots of love

Easter Bunny

dear Briony and Mel,

Thankyou for the easter eggs. I am only eating one a day and so they are going to last for a long time. I am feeling a lot better but we are still not leaving for Waiheke because the mouse-man is coming this morning. I haven't seen any mouses but mummy screams a lot and sometimes in the middle of the night. At night when she gets up she claps and stomps her feet and then turns on the light before going into each room, just to get to the toilet.

lots of love

New Suits

dear Grandma Stella,

This is my new posing position, perched precariously :) on edge. I have this nice pink shalwar kameez came from Pakistan from U. Javaid's mummy. It has little shells stitched on the front and it is real comfortable.
Today I have got sick-all over the back seat of the car. Now I am just spending the afternoon watching TV and being very quiet even though the sun is shining outside and there is no wind at all.

Happy Easter

dear M&Ms

Hope you are eating loads of easter eggs. I am just having one a day so as to keep my shape :)
It has started to rain here and I am stuck inside. We made bread with apple and mixed fruit in it which is yummy and Briony came to help eat it.
Daddy is downstairs working and now that Briony has left there is a reign of terror going on with the mummy thinking I should have and afternoon nap. She is just grouchy because she got sick in Melbourne all last week and had lots of antibiotics which took away all her good tempers.
lots of love and hugs and kisses to your mummy and daddy and to Matt and to you and to Zoe if she is there too,
Rosie
